Athemiq does not charge any commission, only a small fee to verify tutor profiles, ensuring students have access to genuine, high quality tutor profiles.

Our team at athemiq manually goes through all tutor applications. Where possible, all qualifications and working experience are validated. We conduct interviews where necessary and request demo lessons that allow us to judge tutor competency.

The platform in itself has no cancellation policy for lessons. Every tutor has their own individual cancellation policy, described under "Cancellations and Refunds" on their profile. Before booking a lesson, students are advised to check the tutors policy and tutors are also encouraged to keep their policies up to date. The refunds are initiated by the tutor and Athemiq only steps in when there is a dispute in the fee or cancellation process.

Yes. All tutors on the platform offer either a 25 minute or a 50 minute demo lesson, aimed at allowing the student to decide whether they want to book further lessons.

After a lesson has been logged as completed, the student can request a refund within 7 days, citing the reason. Athemiq will then investigate the dispute and issue a decision. After every lesson, tutors submit proof of completion to the platform and in case the tutor does not show up and no proof is submitted, the lesson fee will be refunded to the student.

We believe that while students have the right to see tutor ratings and reviews, tutors also possess the same right. When you apply for a lesson, the tutor is able to see your first name, the last initial, your city and country, and your profile rating. It has been our experience that student ratings not only helps keep them motivated, but also allows parents and tutors to ensure that the student is committed towards the lessons.

All the tutors on athemiq offer a free 25 or 50 minute demo lesson to ensure compatibility with the student. Even after the demo lesson, if the student is unhappy with their first paid lesson, the platform will reimburse the fee for the first hour. If the student has had multiple lessons with the same tutor and is unhappy with the experience, the refund must be requested directly to the tutor and it is at the tutor's discretion to honor the request.

Athemiq is free to use for tutors and students. Anyone can sign up and benefit from the platform. To offer tutors an opportunity to stand out and gain credibility, Athemiq offers a verification badge for a small fee, where our team goes through the tutor's profile and documentation and checks their authenticity. We then provide them with a badge displayed on their profile, allowing students to check that a tutor has been through an extra level of scrutiny and has qualifications and documentation to back their teaching experience. This allows tutors to charge better rates that align with their respective experience level.

Yes. Athemiq is primarily a marketing platform, providing tutors the opportunity to market themselves to global students. The platform encourages tutors to carefully articulate their profiles so students can easily look for suitable tutors. Furthermore, we offer profile verification, as well as a profile boosting mechanism that allows tutors to appear higher on the search directory.

Tutors can decide to charge students directly for the lessons, providing them with their banking or financial institution information and ensuring payment on their own. Alternatively, tutors can go through the platform for added security, where the platform charges the student's mode of payment and then transfers the amount to the tutor upon completion of the lesson. This ensures transparency and safeguards the students and tutors against fraud.

The Athemiq Affiliate Program is a way for you to earn a commission on leads you refer from your website to athemiq.com using the linking options available in our platform. You'll make money when a student follows an affiliate link from your website and completes the lead process, which includes messaging a tutor.

You earn a bounty for every qualified lead you refer to us. For a lead to qualify, they must sign up to register on our site and not already have an athemiq account. The lead must be attributed from your website and they must also send a tutor a valid message through our platform. Those messages typically consist of a quick intro and any questions the student has about working with the tutor.

Reach out to the student and ask for additional feedback. Ask them what went wrong and if they would reconsider their review and change it on their end. Void the lesson associated with the review and forfeit the fee, allowing the review to be removed from your ratings. Comment or respond to the student's review to clarify the situation for future students.

Tutor ratings are an average of the ratings received from students and are updated daily.
